How a PPC Campaign Works

Getting to the top of search engines using pay per click is fast and guaranteed, but at the same time it can be time consuming - and expensive if you don't get it right.

This is basically how it works:

You undertake extensive PPC keyword/keyphrase research, and decide which are the most effective terms to use for your business.

You set up a PPC account with a search engine, and create ads according to the rules of the particular PPC search engine.

You set the price you would like to pay each time a user clicks on your ad (CPC - cost per click) and you are charged only when a user clicks through to your website.

What happens next depends on how well you did your reseaarch, how good your ads copy is, and well your website is set up to achieve your goals and increase your conversion ratios/roi.

Sounds simple enough doesn't it? Well, for experienced PPC campaigners and internet marketers it probably is, but for the majority of website owners, the whole process can be somewhat daunting.

Here's what you do:

You bid for top ranking positions under keywords or phrases of your choice. In theory, the higher the price you pay, the higher your ad appears on the search engine results listing for those keywords or phrases. Your site will be listed very quickly, once you place a bid.

For each visitor who searches the keyword(s) you rank under and then clicks through to your website from your ad, you pay the bid price for the click, and this is taken from your PPC account.

At one time, all you needed to do to reach the number one spot was to outbid other bidders, but positioning is not just related to the highest bid anymore. For example, Google now visit your website to check the content relevancy for your chosen keywords or phrases, and factor this into a 'quality score' for positioning purposes.

Less popular keywords and phrases can have very low bids, and if you have researched your market well, chosen the right keywords and phrases, you can attract highly targeted visitors looking for exactly what you offer.

The cost of your campaign depends on your goals; how much you are willing to allocate to a monthly budget; and how well you know your target market.

In the short run, Pay per Click engines are a useful tool for online marketing. They require a little money to be used effectively and many require daily or weekly policing to ensure that you are not outbid and therefore ranked too low. The trouble can be worth it though, as you drive more and more visitors (usually targeted) to your site.

Why not let us do it all for you? Our prices are very competitive, you will save yourself many hours of work, and you don’t need to learn a thing
